Potato Day 2011( 6th March)

Buying pototoes [0]Buying pototoesOn the 6th March, we'll be holding our annual Potato Extravaganza once again at the Borders Union Show Ground in Kelso. The doors will open at 11.00 a.m. until 3.00 p.m.

We'll have over 130 varieties of potato on offer, some firm favourites, others little known gems, and, as usual, they will be sold by the tuber, so you can get just as many or as few as you want of each variety. We're managing to hold down prices to last year's level of only 13p a tuber. This is much cheaper than most of the shops and garden centres and you have much more choice in what you buy. In addition, we'll be selling onion and shallot sets as well as garlic corms.

Other stands will be selling seeds, garden sundries, crafts and organic or locally produced foods. You'll have the opportunity to listen to expert speakers, ask questions at our "Gardeners' Question Time" and get gardening advice from our experts, before having a light lunch or refreshments at the café.

Entry is only £1 per adult, children under 16 get in free.

It would be great if you could download our poster and display it on your local shop, community centre etc.
